I love my family I do, but sometimes they do some funny things, so read along to see what happens, there is never a dull moment in the Burchard house....

Hello Fall

Oh my it is fall around here, life has been keeping us busy, which is good!!

Gavin had a powerful week at Camp Gilead in August, where he met new friends and learned more about our wonderful maker, I still haven't heard all the stories and I am sure there are some he is waiting to tell when the time is right.  He started 5th grade and is having a tough go at it, he does great with the work but I don't know if his teacher and him are a good combination, as a mom I want want is best for him so I have talked with the teacher and am planning a visit to the class to watch and see what is going on. Soccer is good, he moved up and his trying to find his place, so far he seems to be doing pretty good I am proud of him!!

Carley, well the little stinker princess has proven that if she wants something watch out world..my last blog (I know) she was just starting to potty train, well I am proud to say that she picked up on it and took off, NO MORE DIAPERS!!! and that means a whole new world for us, in fact she can now go and stay with pawpaw all by herself!!  Travis's dad made the mistake of telling her that she can come to his house if she is potty trained and I really think this did it for her.

Travis and I, well we are so busy being parents and providing for our family we are looking forward to our kid free weekend were we can stay in our jammies and not do anything!! ok except finish a scrapbook or 2 and build a bunk bed frame for Carley..

ok I promise to try and share some more later this week, I want to share about my aunts visit and our fall outings♥♥

lost.....

Ok I will say it, I am lost... for those who know me best know that I have a plan for everything down to the date and sometimes the minute, I know I know it drives the ones who love me NUTS... for some reason I like things planned out if it's not your thing then I beg of you DON"T LOOK AT MY CALANDER.....  June and July are covered in post it notes with dates, times and events on them, August is pretty close to, Travis wanted to do something and asked if we were doing anything that weekend (I've trained him well) I said look at the calander, his response was oh look there is a free weekend...

Soccer is over for the next 2 months, well not really but the 2 nights of practice and all day saturdays are on a break... see where I am lost there is free time.... time for people to get lazy and forget a simple routine, I am not the only one who has issues, Carley stands at the door and YELLS SOCCER and when you tell her no more soccer she gets quiet and walks away, quiet + 2 year old = trouble.  I was so bad the 1st tuesday of no soccer Gavin had a field trip so he didn't come home till 6 pm I was walking around getting a little worried until yes the post it stuck out and reminded me that yep he is where he needs to be, Travis asked what was for dinner and I said "oh dinner yea dinner, I guess I forgot" so thankful that Sonic Drive in is so close, we ate dinner in the car waiting for Gavin at school... To make matters even worse I have been cooking everynight to make up for the lack of a good ol' homemade dinner during soccer, I am burnt out on family dinners...nothing sounds or looks good anymore..

The super plus side to not having soccer and so far there is only one.. Carley is potty training, I know big deal but trust me it is HUGE in our house.... so far we have been at it for a week and Carley has only had a handful of accidents and 2 misses, thats what I call them when she yells "bafhroom" and pees as your helping get her undressed, nights and naps have been dry!! I am thinking thats $20 a month into my vacation account look out Kona your getting closer to really happening..(ha ha ha)

Well off to go find Gavin's pet from school... he just informed me that it's not in the jar that I put it in...YUCK YUCK some creepy crawly in my house......

Landing....

So our Soccer trip is coming to an end, a part of me is sad and part of me is screaming and jumping for joy!! The smile's and laughter we as a family has had the last 10 weeks has been a blast, but as Travis says "finally, I can sleep in on my day off" and he is right..(sorta, sorry we still have 2 kids!)

Every saturday morning we have been up at 5:30 am so we can get breakfast and head off to the fields by 7 am... yep thats right 7 am, well the goals don't put themselves up!! actually we could be there at 8 but if something happend we had time to get it fixed, that and the 3 dads found they like a nice warm breakfast from the little resturant around the corner.  The 1st game starts at 9 am and the last game ends at noon and we get loaded up in the van and head home..

What am I gonna do with free time, ha ha remember I have 2 kids!!! school is out in a few weeks, different summer camps for Gavin and lots of soccer practices for Gavin, Gavin moves up to the next age bracket in our leauge, so he is going to spend LOTS of time working on his game and getting more sure of himself.. Carley is wanting to play but we are waiting for her to get a little older but she to will be practicing with the boys!!

So as we settle in to a "new" routine it reminds me of it's like when you come home from a vacation, the laundry, putting things away, taking care of things that have been negleted.. first order of business is potty training Carley!!! then who knows what will happen, maybe getting ready for our next soccer adventure to start in August the week Gavin comes back from Camp Gilead!!

Till then, be safe and have fun

1 Year and counting

So it has been 1 year since we moved to Ferndale and started our lives all over again. So many changes both good and bad, things I took granted no longer close and things I never expected became closer.  Yes the move was a mixed blessing in so many ways.

It was like christmas morning on a GRAND SCALE when the HUGE moving truck backed into OUR driveway, for 7 months 97% of our belongings were in storage, so to have Travis open the back of the truck was like a HUGE weight taken off of my shoulders, our belongings, Gavin's toys, my scrapbooks and lots of memories got unloaded and placed into OUR home where we could add to them...

In 1 year you make lots of memories and meet new people, right away we found a new church, Thanks to my cousin and his wife, it was easy and we love it. We got Gavin settled into school and turns out OUR house is the HOUSE to play at, so Gavin made lots of friends, Travis's job was close and he was home by 5 and not tired from the LONG drive so we did lots of stuff.  Summer happend and the kids and I went to the beach and the parks, shoot we even went to Canada, ok we played at a park that is on the Border and as long as we stayed in the park we didn't need passports, many picnic lunches with dad, picking fresh berries and apples was fun. We signed Gavin up for soccer and Travis was able to coach, something he never could do because of work, Carley and I joined 2 GREAT playgroups and the other moms opened their arms and wrapped our family into theirs.

Our Family has been blessed by moving here, however I do miss my old house and most of all, my friends we left.  But I do see them and do talk to them, but it's just not the same...

the take off

So not only do you have to wait to catch your flight, there is a lot to do before you leave....

Last soccer season the biggest thing we did to help was get there on time and help with the soccer goals, well this year it's a WHOLE NEW GAME!!

After Thursday practice Travis and I went over to help with the fields and got wet and froze, the hot and ready pizza we got for dinner wasn't so hot and ready when we got home but I had a little more feeling in my fingers..

Friday we loaded the kids into the car, got a pizza to go with us and off the the wet soccer fields again, yep more lines to paint, while us few board members that showed up painted lines, the kids played and ate pizza, they also played soccer on our WET PAINT but they were pretty good I guess you can't ask for 5 kids to be perfect... At some point Gavin helped with the lines and so did Carley..

And yes we all went home wet and cold again, Carley had 1 dry spot on her, but did she care nope she had a blast...

Come 7 am saturday morning Coffee in hand off to the fields we go, build a few goals and the day is ready to start, for us it was 5 hours of soccer, for Gavin it was 2 back to back games, a goal and alot of RUNNING and HAVING FUN, Gavin plays on 1 team but another team needed some players so Gavin said I want to, so in he went and had a good time.

So our soccer "flight" is in air 7 more weeks of soccer and then we will land and relax for a few weeks before summer fun begins.

Take - Off

Hold on world we are preparing for take-off, so much is going on right now in the Burchard house and it feels crazy..

You know when you get to the airport and stand in the check in lane, do you notice how one minute your moving and the next your not, well that is how I am feeling, this hurry up and go and then stop, then you move to a new line and then finally you get to the gate and you just sit and wait... Patience has never been my thing, if it is not written down or verbally planned forget it I am not going there either....

This week starts a very busy time for us, SOCCER GAMES, yes I know big deal you say, well in our house it is, my Saturday mornings are now planned (YIPPEE) no more what should we do! no more sitting around looking at each other or listening to the can we do this, why can't we do this... but the waiting for Saturday's do remind me of the airport, you rush to practice, then a day off, practice, another day off, and then finally game day..

Right now I sound happy and excited about games, later on I may not but you know the way I see it right now not every flight takes you to a fun spot...

week 1

Well we made it, not quite sure how we did it, but we made through week 1 of soccer!!

Carley was a trooper, the 1st night she ran wild and had a blast, I lost her but one of the other dad's said oh she's right there so I look she's playing behind Wade, our friend Tori's hubby so all was good, the 2nd night she sat in her stroller with one of the grandma's and had a blast...

Gavin, well it was crunch time no playing around it was time for business, and as far as I could tell both nights he had a blast, dirty and tired but he had fun..

me, well I was running crazy I like things planned out just look in my bag I have note pads and post it's, but I felt good as a board member and parent, we had kids lost and in the wrong spot but we fixed it we rocked our bright sweatshirts and of course we had fun!!

Travis, the only thing he said was I miss having my asst coach around to help (thats me), he has 6 of his returning players from fall and 4 new kids so he says it's gonna be fun...
